Continuing our contemplation on 'Mandukya Upanishad'. Let us contemplate on the meaning of ‘unlimited Self’.
The individual Self is limited that’s our feeling, 'Mandukya Upanishad' and 'Omkara mediation' tries to remove that limitation makes you understand that you are unlimited.
What is the meaning of unlimited?
All fantasies will open up.
So ‘unlimited’ means unlimited power, unlimited ability to fly in the sky, unlimited ability to walk on the water, unlimited ability to walk through the wall, create miracles, magic, what is this ‘unlimited’ means? The moment you speak of unlimited, lot of fantasies about miracles open up.
We normally associate miracles with spirituality, in fact Upanishad teachings has nothing to do with that. If you are unlimited, if you are infinite how can you walk on water, water is also part of you, wall is also part of you. Everything is part of infinite, it has nothing to with miracles, and it is the feeling of infiniteness, it removes the feeling of limitedness in you.
What is the advantage of that? The advantage of that is you start operating in the mode of bliss and fullness, rather than constant inadequacy.
One day Akbar asked a question in court, ‘who is great’?
Everybody replied, ‘Allah is great, Allah is Supreme’.
Birbal got up and said, ‘No, Akbar you are the great’.
Akbar was surprised, ‘I know psycho-fancy, but this is ultimate psycho fancy, how can I be greater than God?’
Then Birbal says, ‘Maharaj, if you get angry with the person, what will you do?’
Akbar said, ‘I will throw them out the kingdom’.
Then Birbal says, ‘If Allah gets angry with some person what will he do, through kingdom he can throw out’.
The infinite has no limitation, infinite does not worry about small things walking on water, going through wall and all. Infinite is all encompassing, infinite is fulfilling in itself. Infinite doesn’t get fulfilled through miracles and magic. Infinite is understanding your true nature, becoming blissful, what you are. It is nothing about magic, miracles and fantasies. It is about truth and reality.
